WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?
Osteopathy is an established system of diagnosis and treatment with it’s main emphasis on the structural integrity of the body. It is a safe and effective form of physical medicine that reduces or removes pain by treating muscles and joints. Osteopathy is also recognised by the British Medical Association as a discrete clinical discipline.
    VISITING AN OSTEOPATH
At your initial visit, a full detailed case history will be taken, followed by an examination and detailed assessment of your posture and movements and areas of muscle tension to establish a diagnosis.  It may also be necessary to carry out additional orthopaedic and neurological tests and examinations to aid the diagnosis, including taking your blood pressure and respiratory assessment.

OSTEOPATHIC TREATMENT

Osteopathic treatment incorporates various techniques such as articulation, traction and manipulation of the affected joints, stretching techniques and soft tissue massage.  Every patient is unique and therefore the treatment is tailored to suit their individual needs to restore normal movement and posture.
